Buteyko practitioners in the UK and so finding one in your local area
is not always easy. A list of practitioners

Practitioners will often vary as to how
they organise their teaching. Some offer individual teaching whereas others
offer small group sessions. Charges also vary, but a course of tuition
will usually cost between £150 - £350.
At the moment few doctors in the UK have much experience of the Buteyko method. However, qualified Buteyko practitioners emphasise that the technique is designed to be complementary to medical treatment rather than an alternative.
The aim of Buteyko is to give people another option for managing their condition so that they feel healthier and experience fewer symptoms. Few doctors or nurses would argue with this principle. Furthermore, widespread use of the Buteyko method in the UK could not only lead to better asthma control among patients but also considerable savings in treatment costs for the NHS.
